B.Sc. Nursing is a four year professional degree programme which leads to the award of Baccalaureate Degree in the faculty of Nursing. The course provides foundations for professional nursing practice, teaching, administration and scientific research methodology. The program is affiliated to Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam and lately to the Kerala University of Health Sciences, Thrissur. The university conducts annual examinations and successful candidates are awarded B.Sc. Degree in Nursing. A B.Sc. N graduate gets opportunity to work as a clinical nurse, nurse educator, nurse administrator, or clinical research assistant. A graduate can pursue higher studies in various faculties such as Nursing, Administration or Clinical research methods or Nursing informatics. Post graduate diploma programs are available in various specialties such as critical care, cardio thoracic and vascular nursing, gastroenterology and hepatology, oncology , pain and palliative care, orthopedic nursing, trauma care, emergency nursing, geriatric care, neuro nursing, dialysis, neonatal nursing, operation theater technique, transplant units, mental health, and public health nursing.
