The primary goal of community health nursing is to help a community, protect and preserve the health of its members, while secondary goal is to promote self-care among individuals and families. Community based nursing applies to all nurses who practice outside the hospital.

Nursing Foundations

The department provide assistance in fostering an entry level nursing student who is prepared to transition to practice as a member of the inter professional health care team. The focus of the programme is mastery of high level competencies reflecting the knowledge, skills and attitudes required for the delivery of safe, quality nursing care and to actively promote the development of the science and profession of nursing. Faculty and students strive to challenge and support one another to accept responsibility and accountability to collaborate with the best interest of one another and the communities they serve.

Adult Health Nursing

The department deals with courses related to adult health nursing including geriatrics within the framework of KUHS and INC. The department strives to impart knowledge and practical skills to students who develop with distinct identity and character, meeting the goals and aspirations of the society.

Obstetrics & Gynecological Nursing

We aspire to provide theoretical and practical education to students and health care providers so as to maintain the quality and continuity of service through clinical care and emphasize professional development through research. The faculty and students in the department of OBG contribute to a wide spectrum of educational and research programmes on antenatal, intranatal, postnatal and gynaecological subjects. We are committed to providing exceptional care to women and family through community health programmes and school educational programmes. The division of OBG continuously maintain the momentum since its inception. The members of the department expertise and interesting innovative educational methodology and qualitative clinical outcomes.

Child Health Nursing

The Child Health Nursing Department focuses on providing specialized care to infants, children, and adolescents to promote their health and well-being. Nurses in this department work closely with paediatricians and other healthcare professionals to assess, diagnose, and treat a wide range of paediatric health conditions. They play a vital role in supporting children's growth and development, administering vaccinations, educating families on child health and safety, and providing emotional support to both children and their caregivers.
