The department provide assistance in fostering an entry level nursing student who is prepared to transition to practice as a member of the inter professional health care team. The focus of the programme is mastery of high level competencies reflecting the knowledge, skills and attitudes required for the delivery of safe, quality nursing care and to actively promote the development of the science and profession of nursing. Faculty and students strive to challenge and support one another to accept responsibility and accountability to collaborate with the best interest of one another and the communities they serve.
The department deals with courses related to adult health nursing including geriatrics within the framework of KUHS and INC. The department strives to impart knowledge and practical skills to students who develop with distinct identity and character, meeting the goals and aspirations of the society.

The faculty and students in the department of OBG contribute to a wide spectrum of educational and research programmes on antenatal, intranatal, postnatal and gynaecological subjects. We are committed to providing exceptional care to women and family through community health programmes and school educational programmes. The division of OBG continuously maintain the momentum since its inception. The members of the department expertise and interesting innovative educational methodology and qualitative clinical outcomes.
